How it’s grounded

Proven, not merely asserted.

Anyone can say their tool is grounded in the law. Quadratic shows the chain — from the primary source to the audit record — and lets you re-fetch the signed receipt on a live run.

The chain of discipline

Every rung refuses something. From the primary source to the audit record, each step guarantees one thing and refuses another. The same discipline runs for every request.

QuadraticThe grounding chainSealed

Primary sourceRUNG 01

Sourced from the primary authorities themselves — legislation, tribunal decisions, and the template letters public-sector employers actually use.

Refuses second-hand summaries in place of the source.

RegisterRUNG 02

Sources are logged with their origin; in the employer-practice corpus each entry also carries a licence finding, and a build-time fence excludes material it may not use — counted, never silently used.

Refuses silently using material it is not licensed to use.

Graded entryRUNG 03

Each entry is graded — verbatim, paraphrase, or inferred — and an inference is capped below documented fact.

Refuses presenting an inference as a fact.

Sealed packRUNG 04

Entries are assembled into an integrity-sealed pack; a pack whose seal does not verify is refused before it is used.

Refuses serving from a pack whose seal does not verify — honest absence instead.

Deterministic selectionRUNG 05

What evidence is supplied is chosen by deterministic rules — no model, no network, no improvisation decides.

Refuses letting a model decide what counts as evidence.

Machine-verified citationRUNG 06

Every practice and authority citation is machine-verified against what was actually supplied.

Refuses passing a fabricated citation — it blocks the run.

Audit recordRUNG 07

Every run stamps an audit record of the employer-practice evidence supplied, under the exact seal it drew from.

Refuses running without leaving a verifiable trail.

A scripted replay of the grounding chain — a property of the system, not of any one request. It never adjudicates who wrote a document.

Two things, grounded

The moat and the floor.A hostile reader that has read the playbook, standing on law drawn from the primary sources.

The moat

The hostile reader’s playbook

Most tools tell you what the law says. Quadratic also reads your document the way HR, an employment lawyer, or a hostile employer will — grounded in how those processes are actually run. The hostile reading draws on an evidence-graded corpus of documented Australian employer practice — verbatim, paraphrase, and inferred, with inference capped below documented fact — and every entry carries its source and licence finding.

The floor

The law, from the primary sources

Legal references are checked against integrity-sealed packs of Australian authorities, and every citation is machine-verified against what was actually supplied — a fabricated citation blocks the run. Corpus updates are proposed by machine, approved by a human operator, and re-sealed — nothing self-modifies.

The claims register

What we claim, what we don’t, and what we never will.A vendor that itemises its unclaimed territory is doing something a gated demo cannot.

What we claim

  • Grounded in the primary sources

Legislation, tribunal decisions, and the template letters public-sector employers actually use — fetch-verified.

  • A hostile reader that has read the playbook

The hostile reading draws on an evidence-graded corpus of documented Australian employer practice.

  • Integrity-sealed and deterministic

Entries are sealed; selection is deterministic — no model, no network decides what evidence is supplied.

  • A fabricated citation blocks the run

Practice and authority citations are machine-verified against what was actually supplied.

  • Every run leaves a trail

Each run stamps an audit record of the employer-practice evidence supplied, under the exact integrity seal it drew from.

What we don’t claim yet

  • No outcome percentages

We do not publish outcome percentages. Our measurement of the corpus effect so far is directional, and we say so plainly.

  • Deep where stated, not comprehensive

Coverage is deep where stated — not comprehensive. We name the jurisdictions and processes we cover.

  • Not lawyer-reviewed

The response is produced by an automated system. It is not legal advice and has not been reviewed by a lawyer.

What we will never build

  • Not an AI detector, ever

Quadratic does not detect AI-written or ‘inauthentic’ documents, and never will. It simulates how a hostile reader could attack your document — it never adjudicates who wrote it.

  • Never your representative

It helps you put your own position in writing. It is not a law firm, and it does not represent you.

  • No manufactured certainty

We will not invent a quantified promise, a claim of complete coverage, or a legal-review implication the system cannot honour.
