What stays private.Plain answers about documents, retention, who reads them, and what Quadratic is not.
What Quadratic is
A tool that helps Australian workers respond to a PIP, show-cause letter, or allegation letter. Your response is drafted, verified against the Fair Work Act, read the way a hostile employer would read it, and independently reviewed before release. If a single test can’t be completed, the document is held back rather than guessed.
What Quadratic is not
Quadratic is not a law firm and does not give legal advice. It is not a substitute for a lawyer or a union representative, and it does not promise an outcome. It is also not an AI detector: it does not judge who — or what — wrote any document. The response it produces is yours; you decide whether to use it.
Your privacy comes first
Most people find Quadratic during one of the hardest weeks of their working life — and many are reading this on a work computer, worried about who might be watching. We built it for exactly that person.
That’s why it’s private from the start. You don’t need an account, and you don’t have to tell us who you are to look around or see how it works. When you do use it, the letter you upload and the response you get back aren’t saved onto the computer you’re on.
We made those choices on purpose. You shouldn’t have to choose between getting help and staying safe — so protecting your privacy isn’t an extra here. It’s built into how the whole thing works.
We’ll also be straight with you about what we can’t do. If your employer owns the computer or runs the network you’re using, they may be able to see your activity — that’s true of any website, and it isn’t something we can turn off from our side. So for the most private experience, use a device that’s yours: your own phone on mobile data is best, rather than a work laptop or work Wi-Fi.
You deserve to handle this carefully, on your own terms. Use a device that’s yours, take the time you need, and keep this between you and the people you choose to involve.
What happens to your documents
When you upload a document, it is sent to Quadratic’s processing system and used to prepare and review your response. Your documents and the response produced from them are stored securely.
Your documents are not shared with your employer through this system, are not sold or licensed to third parties for commercial purposes, and are not used to train AI models.
How long we keep it
During the private pilot, documents are kept for up to 90 days from the processing date, then permanently deleted and not recoverable. Operational backups, if any, follow the same retention window.
Early self-service deletion of your uploads is not available in the current version of the service.
Who and what reads it
Your documents can only be accessed by the Quadratic system during processing, and by authorised Quadratic personnel for system maintenance and quality assurance. Your employer cannot access your documents or your response through this system.
Quadratic uses third-party AI language models to process your documents and produce your response. These providers act as sub-processors and currently include Anthropic, Google and OpenAI. Your document text is sent to them only to draft and review your response; it is not used to train their models. The providers we use may change, and this page will be updated if they do.
By using this service, you consent to this processing, including transmission to providers that may operate outside Australia, for the limited purpose of producing your response document.
What the .docx says
Every final response document includes a generative-AI disclosure, embedded inside the rendered .docx and shown on the results page. The disclosure tells anyone reading the document that it was produced by an automated system, that it has not been reviewed by a lawyer, and that it is not legal advice.
Australian privacy footing
Quadratic is built and operated in Australia. Your personal information is handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. The OAIC’s guidance on AI and privacy informs how we describe AI processing and obtain your consent.
Where processing involves transmission to providers operating from outside Australia, that transmission occurs for the limited purpose of producing your response document and is subject to those providers’ own privacy terms.
Anonymous browsing
You can read everything on this site without an account and without giving any personal detail. During the private pilot, full response generation is gated behind pilot access; nothing about your situation is collected until you choose to provide it.
Pilot status and pricing
Quadratic is currently in a private pilot. Access is free during the pilot. The planned launch price, once paid public access opens, is $199 AUD per response document — a flat price that applies equally to PIP responses, show-cause responses, and allegation responses. There is no subscription.
Frequently asked questions
Worker-trust questions in plain language. For broader product questions, see the full FAQ.
What happens to my document after 90 days?
It is permanently deleted and not recoverable. The 90 days starts from the date your document was processed.
Can my employer find out I used this?
Not from us. Your documents and your response are never shared with your employer, and Quadratic doesn’t notify or contact them. One honest caveat: if your employer owns the computer or runs the network you’re using, they may be able to see your activity — that’s true of any website. For the most private experience, use a device that’s yours, like your own phone on mobile data.
Is this legal advice?
No. Quadratic is not a law firm and does not give legal advice. The response is produced by an automated system. If your matter may proceed to the Fair Work Commission, consider having a lawyer or union representative review the response before you send it.
Who actually reads what I upload?
The AI systems described under “Who and what reads it” process your document. Authorised Quadratic personnel may access uploads for system maintenance and quality review. Your employer cannot access your documents or your response through this system.
What if I change my mind before I send the draft?
You do not have to send anything. The response document is yours; you decide whether to use it. Note: early self-service deletion of your uploads is not available during the private pilot.
